Deep Cleaning Your Oven

I deep-cleaned my oven for the heck of it, assuming it really wasn’t that dirty.

Boy, was I wrong! I was shocked by the amount of grease that was literally flying as I wiped the oven down (it even splattered on the walls, gross I know), I only used a few products and I wanted to share them with you. All products used are linked for you at the end of the post.

I first pre-heated my oven to 200 degrees. I let it run for 20 minutes and then turned it off. I then let it cool slightly and applied Easy Off Heavy Duty. I shut the oven and set a 5-minute timer.

I opened the oven, took out the racks, and set them in my sink, I went back to the oven and used a wet scrub daddy sponge and wiped the grease away, this was a super disgusting revelation. I used a little Scub Daddy Power Paste on the glass part because there was caked on grease splatters (vomit), but it did the trick.

After wiping down the oven (and wringing my sponge out with clean water several times) I then used Dawn Powerwash. If you don’t have this, you NEED this in your life. It has so many applications. I sprayed down the oven with the Powerwash to remove the last bits of grease residue.

I used paper towels to wipe up the Powerwash and then grabbed my microfiber towels. I rinsed off any remaining Powerwash with a damp microfiber cloth. At this point, the oven wasn’t very dirty and it was a quick last step.

Finally, I went back to the racks that were sitting in my sink and I used the same scrub daddy sponge that I used on the oven and wiped away the grease. I didn’t spend too much time on this, the grease was already loose and came off really well. I didn’t scrub them until I was tired, just enough to brush off what would come off and I’d say about 90% of the grease came off and the racks looked brand new!

I put the racks back in, closed up the oven, and admired my work!

Take a look at this reel I made about it. If you clean your oven be sure to tag me, I’d love to see it!
